Overview

This position will work at Advanced Technology Institute’s (ATI) Virginia Beach, VA campus located at 5700 Southern Blvd. 

 

The Evening School Manager oversees campus operations to ensure quality delivery of education, promote standards of professionalism, and be a resource for students, staff, and faculty. The individual in this role will create and execute initiatives specific to the evening/weekend students to improve program quality and retention. Additional administrative responsibilities will include purchasing and asset management of academic supplies including uniforms, textbooks, and tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain consistent presence to respond to questions or concerns from students, faculty, or staff.
• Maintain campus security and safety.
• Actively counsel students regarding attendance, academic, or professionalism issues.
• Ensure all courses are beginning and ending on schedule.
• Participate in orientation and mentorship of new faculty.
• Participate in student retention efforts, including specific initiatives that best serve evening students and faculty.
• Participate in retention/student-at-risk meetings and follow-up with students as necessary.
• Oversee operations of tool rooms, including staffing, service, and inventory management.
• Ensure tool room equipment manuals, processes and operational guidelines are adhered to.
• Order and maintain inventories of academic supplies including uniforms, tools, and textbooks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in technical field preferred.
  • 2-3 years educational management experience in private post-secondary school preferred.
  • Possession of a valid VA Driver’s License and ability to operate a fork lift
  • Knowledge of tools, tool inventory and building maintenance

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team as well as with various constituents.
  • Ability to create and maintain relationships and trust.
  • Excellent customer service skills; to include the ability to effectively follow up and follow through.
  • Familiarity with student success and retention strategies preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills and professional experience with the following applications:
    • Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
    • Any database management software including customer relationship managers, reservation systems, financial tracking systems, etc.
